Hello dear reader,
This is the first entry of my new blog.
To start this off, I will take this opportunity to explain to you what this website is about and what the various categories are for.
Let's start with TUTORIALS:
I use various programs for creating various media that I often try to tell my friends about, at least when I found out something that might be interesting to them.
Here is a list of programs and what they do (don't worry, they're all free):
| • | Blender 2.79 - a 3D modelling program that's not the latest version. I "grew up" with this version and won't change it due to my personal preference (it's mostly the UI) |
| • | GIMP - a graphics editing program that I grew quite fond of, while it's UI surely is something you have to get used to, it has quite many uses |
| • | Godot - a 2D/3D game engine... I use it because of its challenge, maybe you should try using Unreal Engine instead... |
| • | Audacity - a audio editing and recordings program which is easy to use, once you (who guessed it) get used to it |
| • | LMMS - a program for creating music with insane options... |
These programs will get "tutorials" that in text & image form. I am not planning to make videos, since I find using video tutorials a hassle myself. I will write down things that are quite helpful and might speed up your creation process in all of these programs. Don't expect a flood of information and every possible tutorial there can be, I will slowly write down everything I know.
Next up is GAMES:
Once I finished creating a game, you will find a description of the game and probably also a download link. That's about all I can say about this, lol.
The third point is BLAWG:
... do you seriously need me to explain what this is? I mean, you are reading the first entry right now, it should be pretty obvious what a blog (or how I call it "blawg") is.
Going on to STUFF:
I will collect links to sources I use for modelling and other sources of all kinds. These you will find in this category.
The last point is ABOUT:
It contains a short explanation what this website is and what to do if you find this website and are offended by its content.
This concludes the explanation what this website is about and what the various categories are for.
I will now start with the actual "blawg" post.
Do you know the Playstation 2 game Roadtrip Adventure? This game formed a large part of my childhood and I still adore it to this day. It's a "CaRPG" (Car RolePlaying Game), meaning that you are in a world of cars styled like the quite popular Penny Racers (also called "ChoroQ").
I adored this game for its wide freeroaming world you can drive in, the interesting races there were and the hundreds of unique characters you can interact with and its childfriendlyness.
My ultimate goal is to create a similar game with exactly these characteristics. Due to my life as a 9-5 office worker I tend to have just a little time to work on this, yet I will at some point finish this game and I hope that you can enjoy it as much as it enjoys me to create it.
